Paragon is more convenient. You can't have relationships without being nice. I also can't stand being a jerk to my crewmembers. But in other Bioware games I generally say "FUCK YOU WHERE'S THE MONEY." Especially Dragon Age and Knights
of the Old Republic. I still have that game.

KotOR is awesome. KotOR 2's ending sucked dick, but characters were cooler. WRYYYYYYYY
I've always just decided to be good if there was no reward except laughs for being bad. But in KoToR I used the combat abilities like Lightning and had that bitch in the white robes heal me. Being Evil made the Lightning cheaper to use and yeah.
Also, I now have 100% Paragon in Mass Effect 2. And I haven't recruited Thane and only have the loyalty of 4 people. I also have one block of Renegade. I like some of the interrupts. Punching people in the face, kneeing Conrad Verner in the stomach for being a douchebag (imported save only), blowing everyone up with one shot on Miranda's loyalty mission and seeing that Salarian's face...Yeah. Also Mordin's loyalty quest has a Krogan above a gas tank. He's talking about how he's going to destroy everyone and then you shoot the tank and he burns to death in front of his friends.
The ending of the second KotOR was bullshit. The first one was okay, but when you found out you were Revan so much earlier so it was barely a spoiler. The end is just when they directely said, "You're Revan." Both KoToRs were too short, but if they took the amount of content from both games, mixed them, added cool party characters (NOT CARTH-FUCKING-ONASI) and then remade the graphics, we'd have a GotY candidate. Though Mass Effect 2 eats all your GotY candidates. EVERY YEAR. BECAUSE IT HAS RAPE. AND TALI SEX..
